Welcome to Oaklands Celebrants. I’m Denise and my purpose is to ensure the ceremonies that punctuate your journey through life, and those of the ones you love, truly honour your personal story.
Put simply, my role as a celebrant is to make certain that when I work with you – be it funeral, wedding, naming ceremony or any other memorable moment – you receive a ceremony entirely bespoke to you. There is no set formula, no rule book I have to follow: my job is to turn your unique wishes into reality.

I draw on my skills to really support you throughout the planning process, listening acutely to the details you divulge so I can offer a celebration that candidly tells your story; be it in remembrance of life, marking the start of new life, or unifying two lives together.
Having qualified with the United Kingdom Society of Celebrants (UKSOC) you can rest assured your experience of Oaklands Celebrants will be professionally delivered and with the utmost care.

Whilst I am based in Merseyside, I perform ceremonies wherever you choose across the North West of England. The sky’s the limit...

Funerals & Memorials

While we are unified in the fact loss happens to us all at some stage in life, each person’s experience of grief is as unique as their fingerprint and should be treated as such.
A key word for me is ‘honour’; honouring the wishes and life of the deceased, honouring their memory and legacy, and honouring the final farewell their loved ones wish to create for them.

Weddings

Celebrating two lives coming together is a joyous occasion, and one Oaklands Celebrants are privileged to have a role in.
However you envisage your special day, I will work alongside you to make it happen; everything from supporting you when writing your vows to adding special touches to the ceremony such as handfasting or candle lighting.

Renewal of Vows

We find there are so many reasons a couple may choose to renew their vows. Perhaps to celebrate their commitment to each other with their children and grandchildren; a way to enjoy a landmark anniversary; or even a day to show the world the strength of their love following an illness or personal tragedy.
At Oaklands Celebrants we’ll work with you to create a personalised renewal of vows ceremony in whatever wonderful location you choose to set yours.

Naming Ceremonies

A new life in a family is always a cause for celebration, but, for many, a traditional christening doesn’t fit how they would like to mark the new arrival.
Oaklands Celebrants offer naming ceremonies shaped by the parents of the child. It could just be a party to get your family and friends together, with a few choice words to add some formality to the occasion. Or you could add traditional elements such as appointing guardians, singing or readings. Whatever you choose, your child’s welcome to the world will be a happy one.

Speech Writing & Delivery

Finding and delivering the right words for an occasion can be extremely difficult, particularly when personal emotion comes into play, or when there’s a fear of public speaking.
Whether you’re the Best man, Bride or Groom, Oaklands Celebrants will support you in finding the perfect words, then crafting them into a speech which does justice to the way you feel. Should you wish, I can coach you to deliver your words with confidence on the day or deliver them for you, whichever way your words will be heard.
